Wrapped Up In You
We first met Ivy as the “Taco Truck Girl”, owner of a mobile food truck that is parked on the street in front of the building. Ivy’s not had an easy life, and making friends and trusting people is not one of her strong points, but everyone has done what they do and taken her under their wing. In particular, Caleb has a penchant for her food, so he’s trying to help her with permits and options, including matching her deposit on his newest investment – a condo complex with state of the art facilities. All she has to do is cater for events that he holds – a win-win for Ivy as it always leads to more business. But Caleb has brought his childhood best friend Kel in to work security and train staff for the new condos, and Kel is taking his two weeks back in San Francisco while on leave from his job in Idaho and spending some time visiting his little sister, new niece and dealing with his fascination with Ivy.
Kel has plenty of issues, most of them to do with trust and his inability to let go of a boyhood trauma that he brings out as the first reason to not get involved personally. He’s also got a pile of disappointment and stress coming from his job with a dirty ex-partner who tried to kill him, questions about his fitness, and a general disenchantment with the whole thing. He was meant to be a cop, and never lets down his guard – always looking to find a ‘misstep’ to allow him to prove relationships won’t work for him.
These two have a ton of issues to work through, although what’s most striking is the attraction that burns between them has them both thinking of ‘more’ and ‘options’ – a first on both sides. While they manage to dance on every nerve that isn’t good, and stroke the ones that are – they are both finding that possibilities are both scary and rewarding, with a bunch of confusion, angst and apologies needed along the way. Of course, the “girls” are solidly in Ivy’s corner, and that feeling of family and belonging, and just being enough, is Ivy’s for the brave move of reaching out to take it. Still, Kel, even with his sister and Caleb pushing him, has to work out his own stuff and make a choice. A choice he very cleverly makes in public, on Christmas Eve, at the shelter where Ivy is volunteering. Several laugh out loud moments with the guests of the shelter, plenty of heat, and a difficult, if entirely correct decision made by Ivy’s brother bring us full circle and allow the hopes and dreams heretofore unexpressed and unexpected by them both comes to life. Another wonderful installment that allows the mystery that was Ivy to have her moment and fit into the group in ways she could only long for deep down.

It’s love. Trust me.
After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary—schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.
Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel will fight for a true love story.
