Welcome to 2015 at I am Indeed

‘s a new year – with a quick site ‘brush up’ with some new and exciting things happening.  I’m hoping that you are as excited to meet new authors, discover new books for your TBR pile, escape into AudioBooks and find those titles that will encourage young readers that you know to discover the worlds they can explore between the pages of that next new book!

“We read to know we are not alone.”  ~ – C.S. Lewis

One of my favorite quotes, the revelations found in books allow you to live in another world, see a new perspective, escape into new and unimagined worlds, or see the one we inhabit with a fresh view- all provided by the author.

A good book can entertain, play your emotions as Mozart played an etude, teach you about customs, languages and societies, and is never too busy to engage. From the few moments snatched to relax, to an all-day hideaway with a cup of tea, a cozy blanket, books transport, transform and enlighten.

“So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall.”  ~  Roald Dahl from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

To encourage you to read more – to find that joy between the pages, here’s what will be happening at I am Indeed in 2015.

I had so much fun with the challenges last year – that I am doing more this….

AudioBook Challenge sponsored by The Book Nympho and Hot Listens. I’m going to attempt to review 50 or more AudioBooks in 2015.  I managed 122 in 2014 – so 2 a week (average) isn’t out of the question.

Erotic Challenge sponsored by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup.  Last year I had 98 titles that fit the challenge, in 2015 I’m shooting for 48-ish.

Historic Romance Challenge there’s no secret that I’m obsessed with historic romance, with 130 titles read that fit the challenge in 2014.  Again sponsored by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup, I’m going for 100 titles in 2015.

New To You Challenge: another sponsored by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup, this is an open challenge: new author, new series, new genre.  I’m going to limit myself to New Authors, new to me and debut- and hope to find 40 or so that fit.

There are recurring events that I want to participate in:  Children’s Book Week May 4 – 10, 2015, Armchair BEA May 27 – 31, 2015,  AudioBook Month in June 2015, as well as other quick challenges that fit my interests and schedule.

But that leaves a ton of open space.  So – a typical week at I am Indeed will have some “guidelines”.

Monday through Friday will be tour posts / review posts.  These are where titles with adult and erotic content will appear, although books containing such content are carefully marked as such with categories and tags.

Tuesdays and Thursdays will be open genre AudioBook Reviews – with a variety of genres. Titles that do not necessarily fall into the category of “child or teen appropriate” but may include YA-genre titles that have protagonists that are older teenagers.

Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) is focused on family-friendly reading options in written and AudioBook form.  From early chapter books to middle-grade readers up to teenagers, these titles are age appropriate and any adult-themes are integral to plot.  Expect titles that encourage thought, provide amusement and open lines of communication between parents and children in a non-preachy or invasive way.  From new titles to old favorites and classics, reading is a life-long pleasure, and meant to be shared with everyone.

And that will wrap up the welcome to 2015.
