The 3rd th installment of Ruthie Knox’s Roman Holiday serialized contemporary romance is up today – and yet another title in my NetGalley November Challenge!
Book Review:
And the twists just keep on coming for poor Roman: not only is he wholly out of his comfort zone in a swamp-based commune with people who speak about feelings, an alligator that likes music and playing fetch and the omnipresent Ashley, he also has less than 3 days to sort out the difficulties surrounding his proposed development.
Yet Ashley won’t let him off that easily: her realization that underneath the buttoned-up suits, the obsessively anal organization and his lack of emotional affect, Roman is someone she needs to convince and get on her side. So the quick trip to Georgia didn’t work as she had hoped, but getting his agreement to extend to a two-week road trip where she can show Roman why Sunnyvale is the most important thing in her world, and why she can’t give it up.
Such a cleverly written story with madcap situations that would bring another being to their knees, Roman is managing reasonably well with the upheavals, even if his interior monologue is fracturing. His continual rehashing of his life to this point, the warring impulses from what he the new man and developer should do against his heart and attraction all meld into a lovely conundrum which keeps readers guess if the ultimately messy and puppy-like exuberance that Ashley displays will have an effect on Roman, and loosen him up. Released weekly, this is a serialized romance that is heavy on laughs and character development, and utterly fun.
In Episode 3 of Ruthie Knox’s eBook original serial, Roman Holiday, Ashley has led Roman across state lines in an attempt to save her home. And he’s about to learn just how wily this wild child can be. With his Escalade buried up to the axles in Georgia muck, Roman Díaz will do whatever it takes to put his Florida development back on track—but it never occurred to him that Ashley Bowman would start fighting dirty. Ashley figures all’s fair in love and war—and this is war, right? It can’t be love. Love doesn’t involve blackmail. So why does blindsiding Roman and forcing him to do her bidding make her feel so wrecked? A copy of this title was provided via Publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review.
