Ravaged: Roman Holiday #4 by Ruthie Knox

I’m loving this whole serialized romance….if you haven’t dipped your toe into the idea – you can start now and catch up!  These most certainly need to be read in order, not a hardship with this lovely story about Ashley and Roman and their Roman Holiday!

Book Review:

Picking up where the 3rd installment left off, Roman and Ashley are leaving the swamps of Georgia and heading on their next leg of the promised two weeks she has to change his mind about knocking down her grandmother’s hotel.  This story just gets better as the two learn one another, between bickering and sharing moments.

The more that Roman sees her disappointment and sadness, yet her stubborn ability to cling to hope, an emotion he long ago decided had no place in his life, he wonders if perhaps they have more in common than different, despite their history.   With an incredibly raw moment in a small muddy pond, emotions and sexual tension flares, and decisions must be made…

Told in installments, this story manages to add levels of nuance and development to each character as the story behind Roman’s acquisition of the property is being divulged.  As we learn his history that explains his obsession with control of his emotions and reactions, it makes him much more relatable and actually allows readers to gain some empathy for him and his early life.  Ashley is still avoiding her own issues, preferring to focus on changing Roman’s plans even as she wrestles with the attraction that is blossoming between them.

About Ruthie Knox

USA Today bestselling author Ruthie Knox writes contemporary romance that’s sexy, witty, and angsty—sometimes all three at once. Her debut novel, Ride with Me, is probably the only existing cross-country bicycling love story. She followed it up with About Last Night, a London-set romance whose hero has the unlikely name of Neville, and then Room at the Inn, a Christmas novella—both of which were finalists for the Romance Writers of America’s RITA Award. Her four-book series about the Clark family of Camelot, Ohio, has won accolades for its fresh, funny portrayal of small-town Midwestern life.

Ruthie also writes New Adult romance as RobinYork.
