As part of the Tasty Book Tour – I give you a contemporary romance: Mr. Right Now by Kristina Knight. Please be sure to see the other tour stops and don’t forget to enter the tour-wide giveaway for the swag pack …
I thought the premise was something a bit unusual, and the self-help/agony auntie needing a helping hand from her friends, so this was a winning opportunity for me.
What Kristina Knight delivered is an enjoyable read, with some questionable motivations that weren’t entirely clear, but dialogue and reactions were always fun.
Casey was just dumped by a long-term boyfriend who is claiming sexual confusion, and she needs to get out of the public microscope to lick her wounds and regroup. As a leading relationship expert, she isn’t finding her own advice helpful, so she books a cruise to get away from reporters and gossip columnists just looking to shoot her down.
Her friends and agent, thinking ‘hair of the dog’ hire a male escort for her, to give her confidence a must needed boost, yet the escort is not all that he was cracked up to be. And, just to add a twist, Mason has been placed on this cruise by his newspaper to gain an expose on Casey – it’s not a favored assignment, but it’s do or die for his career.
When Casey spots Mason, sparks fly: her escort could be a double for him, but for his whinging, nosebleeds and zero sex appeal for Casey. Mason, for his part is as attracted to Casey as is possible, and doesn’t want to write the story his editor is clamoring for, despite career suicide. The two have some incredible banter, Casey is clever and sharp witted, and there are plenty of laughs included in the story.
The story is quick, fun and has several steamy scenes with Mason that make this an adult read, but perfect for an afternoon’s getaway.

When her celebrity boyfriend of three years dumps her and claims he’s now gay, unlucky-in-love author Casey Cash decides to get out of New York. A cruise seems like the perfect escape: everyone onboard will be locked away from television, newspapers and internet gossip pages, allowing her some much needed relaxation. There’s only one problem: her oh-so-helpful agent has hired a male escort for her…and a big NYC paper has sent a pesky reporter on-board, vowing to get the dirt.
Mason Drury doesn’t want to write an expose on Casey, but he’s in a bind. After a source flipped on him, he’s persona non grata at his newspaper. Celebrity trash or not, this story will put him back on top. Too bad he finds himself breaking the first rule of reporting by getting attached to his subject and letting bias influence his story.
Casey’s much more interested in sexy Mason than the annoying escort who’s bunking in her room. Mason might even have romantic potential if she can shake her well-meaning—but nosey—fans. Oh, and that reporter. She’s got to avoid him at all costs…
