Welcome to another Holiday Title, Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince by Ella Quinn. I’ve read others in this series, and always find a fun read.
The third I have read in this series, I can’t always get into the holiday spirit with a contemporary, but a historic romance always does the trick for me. Hoping that the third time is the charm. Meg Featherton has been twice duped by love with unsuitable suitors. Now convinced that security and a polite regard are plenty, she’s willing to dip her toes into the marriage game yet again. She’s set her sights on Viscount Thoroughgood (Charles or Chuffy) assuming he will fit the bill.
Damon, Marquis of Hawksworth is smitten with Meg, yet she finds his attentions foolish, and is not interested. The war has played havoc with his emotions and interest in all things, and Meg is the first to inspire him, but can he convince her that love is not a bad thing?
What a merry chase of missed opportunities, mistaken intentions and a trio of the ton’s most meddling matrons lead this story and our trio into a merry set of circumstances. Matchmaking at its most obvious, Meg and Daniel are pushed, prodded and occasionally steamrolled down a path of true love, with Meg utterly confused as to which end is up, and whether she can lay aside her fears from her two failed engagements to risk wanting another again. When you add in Damon’s father and his inconvenient interferences and personality, his relationship and determination to bend Damon to his will is a major issue in the plot. He has determined that Meg, the first thing to draw any interest or emotion from him since returning from the war will not get away.
The joy in this story is the twists and turns to the end, as Meg slowly grows up and learns that bad things happen, but to not take a chance is possibly the worst choice of all.

Ella Quinn’s wealthy, titled bachelors think they're immune to romantic notions. Yet no matter how they try to evade it, love somehow finds a way...
In the two seasons since her triumphant debut, Meg Featherton's heart has been tested to its limits. Her first suitor: a criminal. The second, a cad. For her third act, Meg vows to leave love completely out of the marriage equation. She has set her sights on a newly made viscount whom she could take or leave. However, now she must avoid his handsome, roguish, irresistible best friend like the plague. It’s no easy feat, as they are all attending the same house party...
Damon, Marquis of Hawksworth, cannot imagine why Miss Featherton seems so damn disinterested—or why he cares so terribly much. Certainly Meg is a fine wifely prospect for a man in his position, but more than that, he finds he longs for her as he has never done for another woman. She may be determined to protect her heart, but Damon is equally set on winning her over, one delicious kiss at a time...
