Jingle Spells: Anthology by Vicki Lewis Thompson, Rhonda Nelson, Kira Sinclair and Andrea Laurence

Book Review:

Four stories about the Evergreen siblings of Gingerbread Colorado. This magical family’s business is Christmas, and inside the innocuous looking Evergreen Industries building is where all the magic happens.

Naughty or Nice by Vicki Lewis Thompson is Cole Evergreen’s story.
In college, Cole was involved with Taryn, but he left just before Christmas and never contacted her again.  A bit of a hacker, Taryn uses her skills to breach Evergreen’s computer security and leave Cole a message to contact her about the holes in his system.  Taryn wants (and deserves) answers, and this may be her best way to get his attention and her answers. Cole and Taryn have chemistry that is solid and not diminished by the betrayal.

She’s A Mean One from Rhonda Nelson is Ethan’s story.
Ethan meets Lark DeWynter, an aspiring author who has the ability to see the magic, even though it has caused her unending trouble and strife.  She’s written a book that will damage the spirit of Christmas forever, and Ethan has no other choice but to kidnap her to stop her presenting ‘her side’ of the story.  These two have such a love-hate relationship, with an attraction that bounces off the pages.

His First Noelle by Kira Sinclair is Dash’s story.
Noelle and Dash were married, but divorced due to miscommunications and misunderstandings Noelle left and joined the CIA.  When her father has a heart attack, she returns to fill in for him at Evergreen industries until he is recovered and she can return to her own life.  Of course, a crisis ensues and Noelle and Dash must work together to resolve it, after carefully avoiding one another since her return.  These two still have feelings that are buried under misunderstandings and resentment from their past. It’s sweet to see them move forward and get back on track.

Lastly is Silver Belle by Andrea Laurence is Belle’s story, the youngest of the bunch and the only girl.  Addicted to coffee, not cocoa, Belle leaves the office every day to get her fix. She’s met Nick, a construction worker and sparks fly.  Knowing that her family is overprotective, she has kept Nick a secret from the family, and hidden their relationship.  Unfortunately, Santa went AWOL and she has to find the replacement: human, male and his face will be revealed in a snow globe.  Imagine her surprise when Saint Nick is her Nick, and her secret just may be revealed.

These four interconnected stories are fun and light reading, sure to bring the spirit and leave you smiling.  The perfect afternoon (or more) getaway reads that add a special boost to your Christmas.

About Andrea Laurence

Andrea Laurence has been a lover of reading and writing stories since she learned to read at a young age. She always dreamed of seeing her work in print and is thrilled to finally be able to share her special blend of sensuality and dry, sarcastic humor with the world. A dedicated West Coast girl transplanted into the Deep South, she's working on her own "happily ever after" with her boyfriend and their collection of animals including a Siberian Husky that sheds like nobody's business.

About Kira Sinclair

Kira Sinclair is an award-winning author who writes powerful, passionate and sinfully seductive romances. Double winner of the National Readers’ Choice Award, her first foray into writing fiction was for a high school English assignment. Nothing could dampen her enthusiasm…not even being forced to read the love story aloud to the class. Although it definitely made her blush. Writing about striking, sexy men and passionate, determined women has always excited her. She lives out her own happily ever after with her amazing husband, their two beautiful daughters and a menagerie of animals on a small farm in North Alabama. She loves to hear from readers

About Rhonda Nelson

Let me paint a picture. (With words, thank God. Even my stick people are pathetic.) I have blonde hair—thanks to a talented stylist—and brown eyes—thanks to God, and a dimple in my left cheek. I can remember back in the 80’s, in all my late-teen glory, vowing to myself that I would never be one of those women who “let themselves go.” (Insert horrified gasp.) I’d NEVER go to the grocery store without full make-up, my hair would always be Aqua-netted within an inch of its life, (Good old AquaNet–you could have bounced a quarter off my hair and it wouldn’t have disturbed a strand.) and I would do my best to remain healthy and fit.

Two kids in college later, the last thing on my mind when I double-time it through Wal-Mart for toothpaste, Diet Mountain Dew, and washing detergent is whether or not my hair and make-up are flawless. (More like, is my hair combed??? Do I have Nutella on my shirt???) I am more concerned with getting said groceries and getting the &^%$#% out of the store before I have the unfortunate experience of seeing anyone I know. As for the Aqua-net and remaining fit, I’ve decided that I was a horribly shallow, exceedingly vain teen and that I’d much rather eat a cookie and invest in a good foundation garment. (Spanx anyone?) Despite previous vehement objections, I’ve started running–how can I be Fabulous at Forty!!! if I don’t stay in shape?–and actually like it much better than I ever thought I would. The iPhone, it is my friend. Thank you, Adam Levine, Usher, Imagine Dragons and Halestorm for the much needed musical motivation.
