This title is soon to be released under the Harlequin imprint in paperback! 24 September, it drops – so order it, or get ready to shop. BUT, if you just can’t wait – here’s my review, and all of the eBook retailers that carry the title.
I will admit to being a latecomer to the Bella Andre books, more than one of my friends recommends her highly. Opportunity presented itself at NetGalley, and I have found a new series to follow.
Quick, lighthearted and fun, without the overly dramatic angst of ‘well-meaning’ folks getting in the way of the core romance, this story was a delight. Sophie is the “nice” sister, her twin Lori is the troublemaker. With four older brothers often playing a domineering role, I instantly felt for Sophie: I am an only child, but the DH is the baby in the family, and my best friend was right in the middle as we were growing up. Older brothers are the bane of everyone’s existence: especially when they see you as the child and not the adult you now are.
Sophie was solid and strong, willing to take a chance despite her long held belief that her crush, Jake, could never find her exciting or attractive. Jake, for his part, is convinced that he’s not enough for her, so his crush was something he struggled to hide. The “bad boy” with a bit of ink and a disability that fuels his low self-esteem finally takes a chance when Sophie steps out and is boldly declaring her desire. The two start to spend time together and get to know one another as adults: not an insta-love, even when circumstances are misconstrued, and marriage becomes the next step.
Well-crafted with a real feel for the family relationships, conversations and even the personal angst of Sophie and Jake, this story had some moments where I wondered if they would ever get it together, but they do, and the result is heartwarming. For my introduction to the Sullivans and their stories, it was a winner, and I didn’t feel great gaps in my understanding the relationships, other characters or story.

Sophie Sullivan fell head over heels for Jake McCann at the age of five. Twenty years later, the notorious bad boy still sees her as the "nice" Sullivan twin. When they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it's time to make him see her for who she truly is…the woman who will love him forever.
Jake has always been a magnet for women, but the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend's off-limits sister…he can't risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret.
But when Sophie appears on his doorstep, Jake's every fantasy comes to life, and he doesn't have a hope of taking his eyes, or hands, off her. Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do, but one look at her and he knows he can't possibly resist.
