Book Review:
Mathieu is a police officer in New Orleans, we met him briefly in Picture Her Bound as Odalia’s former partner. While just a taste of the man was intriguing his story is this book as he seeks to protect a former love from a stalker. Lisette has retreated to New Orleans to hide from a stalker: an ex-boyfriend that equates domination with punishment and harsh treatment. Lisette and Mathieu were in love in college, but her family frowned upon the interracial relationship, and ideas that were just nascent and experimental have developed into some fairly serious lifestyle choices for them both.
Lisette is not as well defined as Mathieu, her own tendency toward impulsiveness leads them into unnecessary danger, while her unrelenting affections for Mathieu are begging to be explored, no matter the danger. Mathieu is everything that you would want in a safe haven: protective logical, in control of most situations with a touch of a dangerous edge when he feels it necessary. His own forays into the BSSM club scene in New Orleans is how he tries to deal with the loss of Lisette the one woman he never forgot.
Together their connection starts tentatively but increases in both strength and electricity as the dangers mount, and they reacquaint themselves and take steps toward a new relationship. Both have gown and changed, and the baggage of the past needs to be dealt with as they try to eliminate issues to making a life together. Steamy and sexy interludes delve into the dynamics of their relationship, with a clever inset of believable and realistic flogging and bondage scenes, far different from Lisette’s early introduction to the lifestyle. When you add in Seth as he stalks Lisette both in person and via the internet, readers are introduced to the idea that private really isn’t, and anonymous is often just a keystroke away from your own name.
Bristol brings tension, sexuality and sensuality into the story and combines the mixture to produce a thrilling and fast paced read sure to please many. Using situations and elements that are highly plausible and possible just adds another layer of tension to the action, and a bad boy doing good to protect those he loves is at the heart of the story and who doesn’t love that.

She’s the woman he sent away.
Lisette wouldn’t be back in New Orleans if she didn’t need protection—and who better to turn to than her ex-boyfriend turned Detective? She’s got a closet full of secrets that include a stalker ex and a kinky past. She vows to not dream about Mathieu…much. If only he were a Dominant, one who would not just flog her into bliss, but love her as well. A girl can dream, can’t she?
He was her first love.
Mathieu wants nothing to do with another damsel in distress, but he can’t say no when the little blonde woman walks back into his life with proof her ex is big trouble. He’ll give her a place to sleep, but nothing more. His heart is locked up tight. Except, Lisette uncovers his past in the BDSM world and she’s never backed down from a challenge. He can handle her, can’t he?
Lisette and Mathieu embark on a relationship that is strictly about sexual gratification, but evolves into more. When the bodies align, the hearts entwine. Except their rekindled flame is in danger. Lisette’s ex has found his prey, and he’s not afraid of taking a life.
