Let’s get strange and spooky shan’t we?  One of my must read authors, Pavarti K. Tyler has penned this unique piece of erotica that adds in some vampires (no sparkles here) and keeps you glued to the pages.  A little dark, a lot twisted and plenty of fun for your Halloween eve reading. Oh – and before you go further – this is an 18+ title.

Book Review:

Strange, weird, provocative and gripping, this short story is a quick read that will have you scratching your head and wondering just WHY it is so hot.

Tyler gives us the right mix of “I don’t give a F” from the boys’ attitudes, with their disregard for laws and societal conventions of polite behavior: egging each other on in their need to not appear ‘soft’.  The slow awakening of the “dead girl’ as awareness dawns and her hunger struggles to be satiated are so clearly detailed that readers can feel the awareness and tension increase in the cave.

I don’t quite know how she packs heat, tension, action and solid points of view into this short story, but Tyler continues to reaffirm for me her status as a must read author.

About Pavarti K. Tyler

Award-winning author of multi-cultural and transgressive literature, Pavarti K Tyler is usually found with Doc Martens strapped on over fishnets, and a girlish giggle as easy and likely as a throaty guffaw. She is an artist, wife, mother, and number cruncher. She graduated Smith College in 1999 with a degree in Theatre. After graduation, she moved to New York, where she worked as a Dramaturge, Assistant Director, and Production Manager on productions both on and off Broadway. Later, Pavarti went to work in the finance industry at several international law firms. She now lives with her husband, two daughters, and two terribly behaved dogs. She keeps busy working with fabulous authors as the Director of Marketing at Novel Publicity, and penning her next genre-bending novel.

“Tyler is essentially the indie scene’s Margaret Atwood; she incorporates sci-fi elements into her novels, which deal with topics such as spirituality, gender, sexuality and power dynamics.” – IndieReader
