The best part about a really good series prequel is the way it whets your appetite for more. Alexandra Ivy puts two compelling and steamy characters together with a lovely taste of what is to come, and gives you the need to read more.
With a writing style that flows smoothly from one high point to the next, Ivy packs details and descriptions into her prose, mixes in some action and gives some breathing (or panting) room with erotic interludes that are sure to heat up your seat.
Introducing us to Angela and Nikolo, and bringing us back into the world of the Sentinels, each new twist, turn and interaction brings a fuller picture and more to enjoy. Niko is a Sentinel, sent to pose as a professor and protect Angela from the clutches of a psychopathic Sentinel. Angela is wonderful: smart and funny and completely convinced that she is utterly mortal.
The introduction of this series is fast paced, and though I would have liked a bit more in terms of Valhalla and Angela’s backstory, as a start to a new series, I believe that Ivy has another winner. Engaging, steamy and intriguing, the powers and battles here are just starting.
