AudioBook Review:
A first date that uses the relationship from earlier series, this little story is beautifully produced and works well as a stand-alone story, encompassing all of the mayhem and discomfort of a first date, with an added paranormal twist.
From a mugging gone horribly wrong, to a werewolf waiter with attitude, the story ‘feels’ just like any first date, but has the added inset of nephelim, wizards, werewolves, demons and the little interior voices that have them rethinking the choice. Magnus and Alec are cleverly drawn, with a bit of interplay for supremacy and protection, and the obvious innocence in Alec that help to enhance this novella.
Narration is provided by Gareth David-Lloyd, who seamlessly moves through voices and accents, adding appropriate emotion, hesitancy and even emphasis where needed. Quickly adopting and losing accents, narration is a treat and provides a pleasant and relaxing listen.
Although this is just over an hour, as a stand-alone story it is the perfect bite of something sweet, funny and engaging to relax with.
