Good Morning! This will serve as the introduction to me, my blog and a bit about my philosophies on blogging, reading and books in general.
I’m Gaele – the owner and manager here at I am, Indeed. You can also find me reviewing at The Jeep Diva and occasionally I get it together to get a review up at Booked and Loaded I just recently added 4 associate reviewers to help with the backlog here, and while it’s been a slower process to get everyone up to speed, things are moving along steadily.
I live just north of Atlanta – although I am most assuredly a transplant to the area, and even after all this time am still acclimating to the way things are done here.
I’ve been blogging now for almost 2 years full time, and another few months before that as a “dabbler”. I’ve been reading for absolutely forever (or so it seems) and I wanted to share my love of books and the written word on a wider scale than just a few friends. And, standing on a corner beating people over the head with a book while shouting
“YOU MUST READ THIS”
tends to be frowned upon.
*shrug* Who Knew?
So now I shout in a socially acceptable manner.MOST days.
In ONE sentence: I am Indeed is the place to find your next read.
You can usually find me at Facebook or Twitter or even at Google+. and I had a major bloggy blurp and my subscriber list disappeared with the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so if you want a weekly wrap up – please be sure to sign up for the weekly newsletter in the sidebar to the right …
Favorite Genre? I don’t really have one – I like smart, well crafted writing that lets me find a way to escape into the story or to care about the characters. That can happen in Romance (I’ve been on a Historical Romance Kick of late) or Erotica, YA or Lit Fic. Limiting myself to just one genre makes me wonder what I might be missing….
Favorite book This Year and Favorite Last Year –
I am so horrible at picking favorites. But the book this year that had me doing the happy dance and squee was Protecting Portia: A Sugar House Novella from Pavarti K. Tyler. It’s hard to find an erotic title that does everything SO well – good writing, stellar characters and makes you think.
Last year’s favorite was a serious tie….
White Chalk from Pavarti K. Tyler – a transgressive piece that is just deliciously thoughtful
Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon – a funny, poignant, strangely touching woman’s fiction
Fifty Shames of Earl Grey – A Parody by Fanny Merkin in audiobook form – I laughed almost the entire time
Chanel Bonfire by Wendy Lawless another audiobook that was so touching and heartwrenching and hopeful it is unforgettable
There are more – but this was supposed to be just ONE.
And that will wrap up my intro – because I’m horrible at PICKING a favorite or JUST 3 things – and I will not do it.!
Thank you for stopping in! Have you read / heard of any of my favorite titles?
