Most people don’t understand why I love Nalini Singh. But last night, while reading Archangel’s Legion, I found the perfect way to explain myself.
I’m taking a break from J.R. Ward’s Lover Awakened and decided I needed to reread a few scenes from Nalini’s books, since she is my favourite paranormal author and it’s always a delight reading her books. So I picked up her Guild Hunter series and went through a couple of them, pretty fast.
That was until I pulled up book number 6, with the intension of finding one particular scene: but I ended up reading all night with a full read of
Archangel’s Legion
As I have already said, all I wanted to do was read a specific scene. I knew where to find it.
But from the moment I opened the book, I got sucked in. And even if life was getting in my way and I had to put the book down, I was finding myself eager to pick it up again. Almost as eager as I was for the first time I read it.
What surprised even me, was the fact that even if I knew what was going to happen, how it would all play out, I went through all the emotional changes Nalini was guiding me through, like it was my first time.
That, for me, is a sign of a great author.
I won’t be posting lines from this book, because I believe they may contain spoilers. But if you haven’t read Nalini’s books, – these MUST BE in your list of books to read – sooner rather than later!

Nalini Singh, the New York Times bestselling “alpha author of paranormal romance” (Booklist) returns to an immortal world of violent passion and lethal power…on the brink of a deadly archangelic war.
Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force.
Vampires are dying impossibly of disease.
Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York a ruin and Raphael’s Tower under siege by enemy archangels.
Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York…and on Raphael. Rivers of crimson and nightmares given flesh, the world will never again be the same…
