Jumping in mid-series seems to be a habit of mine lately: so many books I want to read, it’s difficult to keep everything straight and get to things in order. Fortunately, I’m also not a reader who minds approaching a series back to front, and the Club Sin books are perfectly crafted for readers like me, as each story is self-contained within the larger series common story thread.
Incorporating domination and attraction with a history of abusive relationships and an overall sense of sexual naiveté, Stacey Kennedy carefully crafts the relationship between Kyler and Ella, and gives readers a solid peek into a BDSM story thread that is sure to please readers who are searching for a little ‘more’ from their reads, but aren’t ready for a more hard-core approach to the genre and scene.
Ella and Kyler were both well developed and felt honest: yet both really started to shine when their difficulties and past issues started to interfere in their communication. I completely understood Ella’s perspective after a bad relationship true bone-deep trust was a difficult step to take. She already ‘felt’ secure with Kyler, as evidenced by her willingness to trust him with her physical person, but we all know (at least those of us who have been hurt) that trusting with your heart is far harder. Kyler’s gentle coaxing to find out just what has hurt her, really doesn’t appear as a general curiosity – he genuinely cares for Ella, and wants her to learn to let go and heal the scars from her past, and his approach feels logical to him: who he is as a person, a cop and an experienced Master.
This story was a devour in one sitting story: clearly showing the relationship dynamics in the Master / submissive relationship as well as the developing love between Kyler and Ella. Taking real-world scenarios and using them to both influence and enhance the scenes, Kennedy brings the reader into the story as more than just a fly on the wall, she stokes curiosity and sparks fantasies. My only complaint? The seeming need for publishers to compare every title to something else, in this genre the FSOG titles. This book, in my opinion is leagues ahead and above the more infamous title, and to compare the two shows a lack of regard for the ability of your readers to decide on a title they want, without expecting (or pre-judging) an experience. Comparisons in the synopsis only serve to set an expectation, high or low, without allowing the book you are actually reading to shine as a unique and distinct work. Stacey Kennedy has, in my opinion, created a series that is so much MORE than comparisons would lead you to think, with wonderful characters, clear intent, steamy sex and a story arc that will have you surprised, amused, titillated and satisfied. What more could a reader want?

Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey are sure to love Desired, USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy’s latest seductive, electrifying novel of Club Sin, where fantasy becomes reality.
Kyler Morgan, Master at the legendary Club Sin in Las Vegas, knows how to give women what they want—too well. He hasn’t had a real challenge in a long time. Then Ella Snow enters his life. Beautiful, inhibited, and innocent in the ways of submission and domination, Ella is the new blood he’s been lusting after. Soon, the thrill of training her to embrace his world brings forth desires Kyler cannot control.
After ending an abusive relationship, Ella makes a promise to herself to start living life to the fullest. It’s one of the reasons she seeks out Club Sin. Here, Kyler’s every touch is a lesson in liberation, stirring passions that have no bounds. But as she falls under Kyler’s command, Ella discovers that some secrets are so dark they must come to light. Submission alone may not be enough to save her, leaving her Master with only one question: How can he help Ella heal while unlocking the deep pleasures she craves?
